Adam was born and bred a Mosgiel lad. Adam has been involved in the deer industry for 38 years, including managing Invermay research Station, Black Forest Park, Totara Hills (Focus Farm), then into the livestock industry with Rural Livestock as a deer agent.
Adam had a consultancy role at Boyer Creek Ranch in the USA in 1994 and was branch chairman for the ODFA in 1996 for the Otago area. He has also been a judge numerous times at the New Zealand velvet competitions where he refined his passion for deer farming and deer industry people. Interestingly Adam had owned a deer pregnancy scanning business where he would scan 45,000 to 50,000 hinds annually.
As Adam had a lot of deer connections from managing a deer stud (Black Forest) and with having the scanning business Adam felt the transition to becoming an Agent wasn't too difficult to be a deer agent and broker stock. Since then, he has been an agent over 10 years and particularly enjoys dealing solely as a deer agent and covering the whole country including Rural Livestock stud deer auctions from Hamilton to Gore.
Adam is married to Rhonda and together they have three active boys. Adam is a very social man and has been involved in coaching rugby union for the last 17 years, including coaching Taieri in the Dunedin Premier competition and age group representative teams.
Interests include social darts, social golf, organising social events in his man cave, spending time family and watching all sport. Back in the day Adam was a high-level squash player and played over 100 games of cricket for Taieri cricket team as well as rugby.
In his spare time Adam still enjoys watching the boys play rugby union whereby his middle son is a professional rugby union player and youngest son currently a First XV rugby union player.
