Hopefully 38 years in the industry makes me older and wiser. From opening the mail as a junior at 6am in the Reid Farmers office in Dunedin, attending weekly sales at Burnside when yardings were 300 prime cattle and 2000-3000 sheep sold every week.
I began as a Junior Agent servicing the Taieri, Otago Peninsula, transferring to Heriot, Roxburgh and Clinton. Livestock Manager for PGG and then joining the RLL team as an Auctioneer / Livestock Manager and Shareholder. RLL has been a terrific small company and I thrive on honesty and loyalty.
I specialise in On-farm Livestock and Clearing sales, Valuations in Machinery and Stock and enjoy the weekly Auction sales giving customers the best competitive choice for selling their livestock.
My wife Jo and I run a small farm on the Taieri and in my spare time - I mow the lawn, operate a small Ag Contracting business with my brother. We keep in touch with our daughters who are teaching and nursing and son who is off to Lincoln soon.
I have a keen interest in Rugby and have just finished managing the successful 1st XV team for John McGlashan.
I am proud to be involved as Auctioneer for Otago Medical Research Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and the Cancer Ball in Dunedin and various other worthy causes when available
