Born in Oamaru but having spent most of his life growing up in Alexandra, Todd started off driving stock trucks as a teenager before moving on to stock dispatching and ultimately working as a livestock agent.

Todd worked in the livestock industry for 14 years prior to making the switch to becoming a stock agent, an area he had always had an interest in. He found out that Johnny Girvan's job was becoming available, so thought he would show his interest in the job. Todd services the Maniototo to Middlemarch region for Rural Livestock and enjoys the challenge, people, and lifestyle.

Todd has a wife and four children that keep him busy and any spare time after that is spent playing squash. A favourite pastime for Todd and the family is taking the boat out to the lake or river for a bit of water sport action.
