Hamish joined Rural Livestock in August 2017, based in Oamaru as the Otago Livestock Manager and then in January 2025 he moved to Christchurch as the General Manager.

Prior joining Rural Livestock Hamish worked in Agri Banking with Rabobank based out of the Oamaru branch for 7 years and prior to that worked in the animal health industry for Merial Ancare. Hamish grew up in Scargill, North Canterbury on the family farm.

During his time in Otago Hamish enjoyed the variety of work that the livestock industry offered and the opportunities to meet some great people and see some impressive farming operations and hopes that will continue in his role as General Manager.

Favourite quotes include treat people how you would like to be treated and work hard play hard. Hamish values honesty and integrity and takes pride in what he does and believes the rest will take care of itself.

Outside of work with his wife Nic they have three children Molly, William and Angus, who they enjoy following around with the various sports they take part in and the hobbies they have. As a family they enjoy spending time on the water at the lakes with friends and family.
